CENTRE OF INFORMATION

The Lourdes Vascular Surgery Department offers the latest in diagnostic techniques for assessing risk factors and detecting vascular problems. The diagnostic Vascular Ultrasound Laboratory provides the most sophisticated and non-invasive ultrasound diagnostic tests for arterial and venous diseases. Our Vascular and Endovascular surgeons are adept at treating all circulatory conditions, with the full range of vascular and minimally invasive endovascular procedures for diagnosis and treatment.

The vascular and endovascular department is the first and the only kind in the city which offers one - stop solution to all peripheral vascular problems.

Artery Clinic

  • Lower limb - Peripheral Occlusive Arterial Disease (POAD).

Vein Clinic

  • Routine evaluation of varicose veins, DVT, post thrombotic limb, venous malformation / AVM.

POAD

  • Comprehensive solution for all occlusive arterial disease of peripheral arterial tree including upper limb (Subclavian / Axillary / Brachial / Radio - Ulnar), lower limb (Aorto iliac disease, Femoral, Popliteal Tibial and Pedal), Renal, Mesenteric and Aortic Occlusion.
  • Thrombolysis / Embolectomy / bypass in acute limb Ischaemia.
  • Angiogram evaluation of chronic / critical limb Ischaemia.

Bypass Surgery

  • Aortofemoral, Iliofemoral, Femoropopliteal, Femoro Tibial, Popliteopedal, Axillobifemoral, Obturator, Fem-Fem cross over bypass).
  • Endarterectomy for Femoral / Renal / Aorto iliac disease.
  • Minimally invasive procedures (POBA / Stenting) Balloon angioplasty (Plain / drug eluting) for limb salvage in upper / lower limb / renal / mesenteric vessels. Tibial retrograde access Angioplasty in diabetic foot. Vasculo mimetic stenting for POVD.

Aneurysm Disease

  • Evaluation with Doppler, Ultrasound and CT/MR angiogram.
  • Treatment of Carotid, upper limb, lower limb, visceral, aortic aneurysm with open surgical repair or latest ( EVAR OR TEVAR) endovascular aneurysm repair ( key hole repair with stent graft technique).
  • Hybrid EVAR / TEVAR in state of art Cathlab (GE INNOVA IGS 520 Gen 3) theatre complex with laminar air flow and Hepa filter.

Trauma

  • 24 hour service with emergency medicine, radiology, critical care back up.
  • Vascular repair in major arterial and venous trauma.
  • Open surgical and endovascular solutions for complex limb trauma in conjunction with plastic surgery and orthopaedic team.

Vascular Malformation

  • MRI / CT /Catheter angiogram study for evaluation of vascular malformation.
  • Fluoro / USS guided Sclerotherapy / Embolisation / Coiling / Surgical Excision for venous malformation / AV malformation.

Dialysis Access Services

  • AV fistula creation for dialysis.
  • AV graft for dialysis.
  • Permanent catheter placement for dialysis to SVC / Iliac Vein / IVC.
  • Fistula Salvage.
  • Venogram to diagnose central Vein Stenosis/ Occlusion.
  • USS / fluoro guided Fistuloplasty, Central Venoplasty / stenting.
  • DRILL procedure and RUDI procedure for AV fistula steal.

Tumour (onco) Surgery

  • Surgery for vascular tumours like carotid body tumour / IVC tumour.
  • Preoperative Tumour Embolisation.
  • Vascular reconstruction in advanced malignancies.

Transplant Surgery

  • Vascular Anastomosis during organ transplant procedures.

Venous Access

  • Chemo port placement for Cancer Chemotherapy, PICC line placement for long term venous access.

Lymphoedema: (with physiotherapy department)

  • Sequential intermittent compression therapy, Manual lymphatic drainage.
